The Latest from Paul Smith Fabrics

Having lived in London for many years I am no stranger to the work of Sir Paul Smith. This renowned fashion designer has created a variety of fabric designs for Maharam and Gainsborough Silks.

The newest collection for Maharam is called "Point" and is designed for seating upholstery. It features Paul Smith's signature stripe patterns in rich blues, greys and earth colors and is inspired by Scottish Fair Isle knitting techniques.

Gainsborough is a traditional weaving company who has been weaving fabrics of distinction for over a century. Commissions include fabrics for The House Of Parliament and Buckingham Palace. This beautiful Paul Smith striped pattern, printed on silk is overlaid with a more traditional damask pattern. 37 colors are included in the pattern and Gainsborough is quoted as saying that this was one of the most complex patterns ever produced.

Not so new but still so original and interesting..."Bespoke stripe" for Maharam, which takes its inspiration from menswear pinstripes. 100% wool and suitable for contract use.
